A DAY IN THE LIFE . . . SINCE 1955
Timothy Dean Nutt was born on January 11th, 1955, exactly one year and 26 days after I was. He was my first playmate, first pal, first best friend, and best man at my wedding.
But time marches on. Today, Thomas and Abby are the most poignant reminders of that. But also, that the story continues.
This is always a day of reminiscing, made so much the more because my first two grandchildren, Thomas and Abby, Tim's first Great Nephew and Great Niece, now 14 and 12 respectfully, were both born on his birthday.
He died on January 4th, 2014, cancer. If you read his obituary, it will say January 5, but I was there, it was about 10 minutes to midnight, one week before his 59th birthday.
The memories are too many to mention, but just a few for old times sake:
- Baseball and football in the backyard
- Little League baseball - Dad was the coach
- Throwing snowballs at icicles hanging off Grandma and Grandpa's roof
- Riding bikes on Tombaugh Avenue
- Swinging on the barnhill swing and playing in the woods at our cousin Beth's house
Others have memories, too. Go HERE and scroll down to read what many friends and colleagues had to say. Click on Tim's picture above or HERE for a video scrapbook of Tim--and the Nutt family--through the years.
